A Slight Delay

It is almost noon on the day when this Bible Study blog was supposed to begin. I must apologize for a delay. I had planned on it being live today. When I wrote the first post, I had great plans. Almost within minutes of posting that it would go live on Feb. 20th, I received and emergency phone call and things spiraled from there. 2 days and 2 deaths later, I found that the weekend, and the first part of last week, I found time taken by working with two families who had suffered the loss of a loved one. Last week began with 2 funerals in 2 days. I still planned to make this go live at that time. But Wednesday and Thursday had plenty of ministry of its own. And I have to admit that when Friday arrived, I needed the day off. I also took the weekend off with my wife, Penny. We went out of town. I planned to work on the study while gone but we enjoyed our time together and I didn't get around to writing the study.

Long story short, it is not live today. I will work on it when I arrive home but it probably won't arrive today, the 20th like I planned.

Keep watch, it is coming.

Coming Soon - Biweekly Bible Study

You have found the new St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Troy, IL Bible study blog. At St. Paul's, we are committed to studying God's Word as we believe it is the inspired Word of God. We have various studies that take place weekly or biweekly at the church in Troy, IL. Yet we realize that not everyone is able to make one of those studies.

We are going to offer this online study for those who are interested. It will be published biweekly. The topics will be Scripture based, following the doctrine and practice of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, Pastor Mitchel Schuessler will be the author of the studies and will serve as the manager of this blog.

The study will be posted on a Monday. Discussion will then be open for a week and a half. During that time, questions can be raised, comments may be made, etc. By Friday of the 2nd week, no further comments will be made by Pastor Schuessler. He will be writing the next week's Bible study.

The purpose of this study is to help people to grow in their understanding of God's Word. If you are interested in studying God's Word, you are welcome to take part. You can take part without making comments. It is entirely how you feel about participating in the study.

No mean, derogatory, insulting or rude comments will be allowed. Foul language will not be allowed. They will be deleted immediately. The manager of the blog has the right to remove any comments that he feels are not appropriate. He hates to put this in here but feels that it needs to be said. People need to feel safe to make their comments without being attacked because of them. Keep all comments appropriate, as though you are saying them face-to-face to the person and that the Lord would accept as a proper way to treat other people.

The plan is that the 1st study will posted Monday, February 20th. This will be updated as that date draws closer.
